my visit to taj mahal essay in English: a personal visit in Delhi

my visit to taj mahal essay in English One must visit historical buildings to know the history. It gives us knowledge of the period and age in which it was produced. We know more about the kings who made them rather than read them in books. None of the places has impressed me as much as the Taj Mahal in Agra. I can easily call it a love poem in marble. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the loving memory of his queen, Mumtaz Mahal.

It is located on the right bank of the Yamuna River in Agra. It is made of pure white marble and looks spectacular on full moon night. The Taj Mahal was once one of the seven wonders of the world. Nevertheless, it is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Wished to see the building with my uncle one day. We had a view of the Taj Mahal from the train at a short distance. It looked grand and impressive. We went on a rickshaw. We saw the gate of the building. It was very high and beautiful. It is made of red stone. It is called the Buland Darwaza.

We now saw Taj from there. It was a white building made of white marble. We went through paths made of marble slabs. Distance and fountains were in the middle of these paths. Fishes of all colors leap into them. There we saw lawns and trees on both sides.

The Taj is built on a high platform made of marble. We climbed a few steps and saw a large terrace with a crown in the center. There are four high towers on all four corners. Now I saw the beauty of Taj. I never thought so. On three sides of the gate are verses from the Quran written in black mosaic. It is indeed a great work of art. I was surprised to see its greatness and glory.

Now we went inside. There is a wide circular gallery around the building. I was amazed to see Figri work and carving in marble. In the center, there were two graves of Shah Jahan and his beloved queen, Mumtaz Mahal. But I came to know that they were not real graves. The real graves were below. We went there and found that they were just like the other tombs above. Verses from the Quran were written on the tomb of the queen. The crust was naked on the emperor. I was surprised to see a mosaic work of art on all sides. It is said that thousands of love of Shah Jahan for his queen. Crores of rupees were spent.also read Effects of Air Pollution On Taj Mahal And The River Yamuna

The sight of the building has left a deep impression on my mind. I can never forget this. The beauty of the Taj cannot be described in words. The more you see it, the more your amazement. It is truly a dream in marble. There is nothing comparable to the Taj in the world.
